INTRODUCING ORGAN DONATION AND TRANSPLANTATION IN MUSLIM COMMUNITIES

Huntley Mount Medical Centre is a GP surgery based in East Bury, Greater Manchester. The Lead GP is Dr. Fazel Butt, who is also the East Neighbourhood Lead for Bury CCG.

We were kindly invited to attend discussions and seminars at the Centre of Islamic Studies, University of Cambridge from June 2017 onwards. Dr. Mehrunisha Suleman and the University of Cambridge have since supported our ambition to bring these end of life care themes to a regional professional audience, as well as supporting our initiative to developed related publications.

The project lead for this series of conferences is Asif Butt. He has a BA (Hons) degree in Photography and a PGCE in Art & Design, and taught Photography, Design & Technology, Art & Design and English as a Second Language at secondary level from 1997 to 2015. He currently works as a practice manager at Huntley Mount Medical Centre.
